I first heard about this program the day that WDTN (our local news channel) was filming the surprise for Amber at her work, telling her that WDTN had chosen her story to be part of the Wishes 2 Come True campaign. You can check out the video here.
Amber was engaged to Tim and Tim is in the Army. Amber didn't just want to go to the Justice of Peace to get an official marriage license. She had her heart set on a traditional church wedding and didn't have the time or money to make that happen before he was deployed to North Korea, 6,000 miles away from Amber and her daughter Simone.
I was serving at Bravo at the time and had gone into work for my lunch shift when our manager asked me to go on TV to announce Bravo's donation of a banquet dinner for Amber and Tim's wedding reception. Without hesitation, I accepted the task to suck up my nerves and tell Amber on TV what Bravo was going to do for her wedding. This sort of thing makes me mushy inside and I absolutely love it.
After we surprised her, I went home, and thought about how I could help with the campaign. I decided to make custom wedding earrings and necklaces for both Amber and her daughter Simone. I went with a pearl design since Amber adores pearls. I think she looked absolutely lovely on her wedding day.
